Yes, We ARE Crazy

So, most of Marta's family is now aware, but to the rest of you who have not been informed about our very unorthodox birthday presents to our boys, here it goes: new names. Yup. We spent the morning waiting in line at the Vital Records Office to make it official. Emmett is now Cash and Blake is now Pierce. This might come as a surprise to some of you who do not know that Marta has been begging me to allow her to change their names since about their first week of birth....and it took me two years, but I am now on board. For those of you who have better things to remember than the baby-naming dilemma we endured 2 years ago it all started when we were told that we were having boy/girl twins. We started with the names Pierce and Ivy and then, when we were told that baby B was also a boy, we shifted to Pierce and Collin and then, when the entire world mentioned to us that they knew someone named Collin we shifted to Pierce and Cash or Pierce and Finn and then, when a character on Grey's Anatomy was named Finn, Marta decided that our boys would be Pierce and Cash. However, I still wasn't sold. So about a week before they were born, amidst the dust and rubble of our construction-site home when Marta was "enormous" and swollen to the size of Texas (as she describes) she conceded. We named the boys and she was never happy. In fact, she has called Emmett "Goose" for two straight years and, although we love the name Blake, it just seemed like the appropriate thing to do to change his back to his "original" name along with his brother. We have been calling the boys by their "new" names over the last few weeks and it appears as though they could be none the wiser. So, I guess that just leaves your opinions for the two of us. And yes, we admit it, we are crazy.
