It's About Time for an Announcement

Back in 2007 after Cash and Pierce were born both Marta and I felt like our family was complete. We had three beautiful boys and that just felt right. We were so strong in our conviction that we sold our two cribs and gave away most of everything baby-related to friends and family. We are now regretting that just a bit...

About two years ago we had an unmistakable feeling that someone was missing in our family. We thought long and hard about it. We prayed about it. It really didn't make any sense. We were in such a great place - our boys are getting a bit older and now love to play together, major home renovations were wrapping up, my work was going great, Marta got her CNA certification and had started back to school to earn a degree in Nursing. But clearly, sometimes these types of things aren't logical or convenient. So here we go again!

We've delayed finding out if she's got boy #4 in there until just after the new year, so stay tuned!

Christmas Morning

We've had a great Christmas this year.

We've had the chance to spend a lot of time with each other and family, and our boys have had a lot of time to play together. With few other things going on it has been great to slow everything else down and focus a little bit on what really matters. We're very blessed and we are grateful every day.

Winter 2012

Here's a few of the things that have kept us busy over these last couple of months:

We've had a couple good storms so far this year that we've been able to put to some use. After singing about Frosty for a while, Cash was very excited to build his snowman. Beau and I made forts to guard us during our snowball fight.

Beau is also playing his first year of Junior Jazz basketball. He's loving it so far. They give you nosebleed tickets to a Jazz game as part of the season and we had a great time.

All boys were stoked that after it sat out for about a week it was time to break into the ginger bread house. I tried a piece and am not sure why they were so excited...

Lego Christmas

If you don't use your vacation time you lose it. So what am I going to do with myself for two weeks off work with no major house projects? How about scrapping all our made up Lego designs, separating them out by color, and then rebuilding all our original sets? It took about 3 days of nearly constant building to complete the task, and fortunately you can look up lost instruction books online these days.

Here are the before and after shots. This seemed like a dream week for my older brother Jeff - as long as we washed our hands with soap first.

Now we're ready for new Christmas Legos!

Let's See the Lights

Amber was in town on her way through to catch a flight home for Christmas so we got to spend some time seeing the lights downtown together.
