The Pierce and Cash birthday celebration coincided with Pioneer Day this year, so it started early with a parade and ended late with fireworks. The boys are currently very into Yo Gabba Gabba, which does make me a little concerned about their future earning potential, but they were very excited about the Gabba Gabba DVD and matching cards. The big wheels or "motorcycles" as they are called here were clearly a huge hit. Let the games of Big Wheel Chicken begin...

King's Island

Deana and Derrick convinced us to come with them to King's Island last week while in Ohio, and you can probably tell from a few of these photos that it was a good call - the boys had a blast. If you ask Beau what his favorite ride was he'll say, "All of them, but my favorite favorite was the roller-coaster!" You can tell from his face that he's not kidding - although I think it helped that Derrick hammed it up a bit.

I got a chance to see Derrick's real 'holy crap' face as we rode the Diamondback , which begins with a 230' drop straight down and apparently was voted the second best roller-coaster of 2009. I'm glad we don't have a photo of our faces on that one. Needless to say, it was intense.

River Bend Farm

The highlight of this two week adventure of ours was all the family we were able to spend time with. We saw a lot of my family in MO and just about all of Marta's in Ohio. We spent the day after Ruthie's funeral at the Farm that has been in the family for a couple hundred years. This is how Marta spent a number of her summers growing up, cruising circles on the wham-o just like Cash. The boys had so much fun exploring, catching bugs, and just getting dirty.
