Cement Removal

Before

Who doesn't want to rent a jackhammer on a Saturday?! The previous owners of our home LOVED concrete work.

I spent a month of the summer with a sledgehammer taking out a cement wall and a couple of cement planters.

After

This time we broke out the big guns. Several hours later we'd found basement plumbing buried in concrete that we needed to find, and our ultra-modern concrete work was no more.

Door Holes

Marta and I have now finished putting in the replacement windows and doors. Our main living/dining room had four of these eight-foot sliders to put in.

These beasts were heavy, but by the end, we'd become pros.

New Windows Going In

Yesterday our first big windows went in along the back of the house. These two are in our new master bathroom and are the smallest at 4 feet wide each! Marta had this brilliant idea to take the windows to the floor and they look so great. It gives you a view all the way down to the creek.

This is the upstairs hallway in the front of the house. It's so nice to have some light coming into the house upstairs, and it's getting a bit warmer in the house with each window.
