Mardi Gras

Dean's Mobile, Alabama roots were out in full force for our first annual Wright Family Mardi Gras party - complete with throwing candy and beads, costumes, and Moon Pies.

2 weeks later, Pierce is still yelling, "Throw me something Mister!" at strangers.

Beau got the King Cake baby! This means the party will be at our house next year.

Our Next Step

We finished our last project in the basement almost a year and half ago...

I think we're getting a little bored and lazy...

Home improvement projects are how Marta and I have dated over the last few years. We'd put the kids to bed and then stay up most of the night tiling a bathroom or hanging drywall. We've seriously not known what to do with ourselves (and our Saturdays) without these projects.

We've got the itch to find our "forever" house, and while we love where we are and the many great people we've gotten to know here over the last (almost) 10 years, we've never felt like this was the last house for us. We've decided that when we found the right place for us that we'd be ready to go for it. We think we've found it, and so we've decided to sell this home that has absorbed so much of our blood, sweat, and tears.

We listed it last Wednesday night and by Friday morning we were under contract to sell. Our heads are spinning a bit, but we feel like it's the right move and we're so excited to take this next step.

Beau's Ninth

For his birthday, Beau took his two best friends and his two brothers to Hollywood Connection where they played 18 holes, rode some carnival rides, drove bumper cars (many times), ate some pizza, roller skated, and played in the arcade. By the end of the day I think presents were an afterthought.

Every year I say, "I can't believe our little man is already __ years old!" and this year is no exception.
