Welcome Home

Noelle and Marta came home from the hospital yesterday and her brothers were all very excited to see her and hold her. Beau in particular was very enthralled with her and just stared at her all night. It's easy to forget how small these little kids are when they start. We're feeling pretty blessed and lucky to get to call her ours.

We are all very excited to welcome Noelle into our family. So far she has been so sweet. She was very eager to be born and it took all of 2 minutes from the time Marta was fully dilated to us holding her. I'm not kidding - 2 minutes - I nearly missed the whole thing.

Marta is also doing great and is very excited to have some pink around the house.

Few events are so important in the development of a kid than the Pinewood Derby. At least that's what dads all over tell themselves as they spend hours cutting, sanding, drilling, and weighing cars. All three boys were very excited to design and build cars this year, and their designs were all just enough different that I thought that after this year I'd be able to figure out how to create an ultimate winning car for next year. So we went to work in the dining room floor car shop. 

There were 27 cars entered, and things worked out pretty well for us this year. Beau's car went undefeated the whole night. 12 races on a 4 lane track and 12 first place finishes! A very fun night of racing...
